Encouragement

"The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high;
He will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.
He will be the sure foundation for your times,
a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge;
the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure."
Isaiah 33:5-6

"give, and it will be given to you. Good measure,
pressed down, shaken together, running over,
will it be put into your lap. For with the measure
you use it will be measured back to you."
Luke 6:38

Blessings to you,

A Christlike Life

Saying you are a believer in Christ doesn't make you a believer. You can have all the head knowledge in the world, but if it isn't in your heart then what good is it?

You may say all the right things, but if God doesn't get the glory then they are just words in the wind.

We are made of God, created by His hands, but who or what do you truly acknowledge?

Are you worshiping God or men who teach God's word and/or men who make rules?

God says we will know them by their fruit. What do you display? Do your actions show forth peace or turmoil; self-centeredness or selflessness; hatred or love? I could go on, but you get the drift.

Speaking the 'walk' and actually 'walking' the 'walk' are two entirely different things.

How dare we question God or even dare to tell Him what needs to be done!!! We are not the Creator, but the Creation.

We are all 'sinners' till we actually acknowledge what He, and He alone, has done on our behalf.

I am so thankful that Yeshua/Jesus took my sins upon Himself. That He became the final sacrificial Lamb and because of what He did, with the shedding of His blood, I have been set free.

Where do you stand? To whom or to what do you place your allegiance?

"These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by man."
"You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, "He did not make me?" Can the pot say of the potter, "He knows nothing." " (Isaiah 29:13, 16 NIV)

Be Exalted

Greatly exalted is my Lord;
I humbly bow my knee,
in the presence of His
awesomeness.
I will forever shout and proclaim
His name;
For He is God and shall always be
the One I will follow for all
ETERNITY!!!
Yeshua be praised!!!
Jesus be exalted above all other names!!!

Be blessed, my friends,
Shifra

Reflection

Is God interested in the beauty of the church building or the beauty within the heart of man?
Does the building draw the people to God or is it  the way we live that inspires and draws the people in?
Are our religious acts important to our Maker?
Do our religious acts draw people to God?
What is true worship?
Does reading the bible, praying, and fellowship with other believers mean that God is obligated to be there for us?
What truly impresses God?

God is not interested in outward displays, but judges the intents and thoughts of the heart.
It is a meek spirit and an obedient heart that He desires. He seeks a pure heart from us and not religious acts of service.

Father, help us to always remember that You are a loving and caring God, but that You do discipline us when needed. Help us to remain faithful and true to You and that we keep ourselves pure in Your eyes. We want to be the well adorned bride without spot or wrinkle. Amen.

Blessings,
Shifra

Testimonial Time

I thought it would be nice if my readers would share their testimonies with me, so to get things started I am going to share mine.

I had gone through an abusive / adulterous marriage and then I had a bad relationship with someone else.
In 1981 I went to stay with my sister for awhile in upstate New York.  It ended being alot longer. More about that later.
I started going to bible studies with my sister, but stayed in another room doing needle work or some other craft. When they were listening to cassettes that spoke about Jewish customs or beliefs they would play it louder or talk louder if they were reading scriptures pertaining to such things.
Then I got a bible called The Way which was a paraphrase and compared it with the Jewish Masoretic text. There were just too many coincidences, such as, Isaiah 53 which both versions said the same thing. Psalm 22 and more. I also read the book More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell which stated that Jesus was either a lunatic, liar or He was who He said He was. Not only that, but I had 3 prayers answered in a two week period.
Now I was still sceptical, but on May 1, 1981, I was alone in my room and I said to God if Jesus was truly His Son that I needed something right now. I had such a peace flood my soul. A peace that I don't remember experiencing since. That is not to say I don't experience peace, but that day was just so different. You need to understand that I was a very introverted person. I was afraid of my own shadow. I know that I know that Jesus, Yeshua, came into my life that night. I have never been the same.
Well I wasn't suppose to stay there, but I had to get a job to raise money to get back to Florida, but I decided to stay due to my new found faith and started going to church.
In 1987, I met my future husband. Married in 1989 and had our daughter in 1993. Moved back down here, Florida, in 1994.
So there is my testimony.
Now its your turn.
Love and blessings,
Cheryl

Forgive Us Lord

How many of us truly enter into His courts with thanksgiving?
Do we enter His courts with praise?
And most of all do we do it on a daily basis?

I'm guilty of not doing it. I, like so many of us, just seem to get caught up
in the here and now of everyday things and take God for granted.

I wish I could say it would never happen again, but all I can truly say is
that I will strive to do better and try to get my priorities right.

Forgive me Lord for being self-centered and focusing on other things rather
than You.

Help me to remember what Psalm 100 says:

"Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we
ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise,
be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures
to all generations."

Blessings my friends,
Shifra

In Awe

I was on my way to work this morning and caught a glimpse of two birds kissing each other, beak to beak. I was once again put in awe of God's wonderful creation.
All we have to do is look around and see and know that God put this all here for us to enjoy.

Genesis 1:1 "in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:5 "...called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night."
Genesis 1:8 "...called the firmament Heaven."
Genesis 1:10 "And God called the dry land Earth;..."
Genesis 1:11 "And God said, let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind..."
Genesis 1:16 "And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser one to rule the night: He made the stars also."
Genesis 1:21 "And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that moveth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind:..."
Genesis 1:25 "And God made the beasts of the earth..."
Genesis 1:26 "...Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness:..."  (New American Standard)

How can we look around and then read these words and not know it is God? How can we deny what is right in front of us? Yet, there are so many that live in denial and refuse to let the truth in.

We are living in a more and more depraved world where people believe that whatever they do is okay.
What happened to right is right and wrong is wrong?

I can only pray that people will one day see the TRUTH so that they can be set free.

My friends be blessed and have a God-filled day,
Shifra

God Is Always Near

There just is no way to escape God even if you want to. He is relentless in His pursuit of us. He is determined to have an unconditional love affair with us. He will hound us and hound us till we get the message and either we will accept Him or we won't.

He loves us all just the way we are. There is nothing we can do to ever change that. We cannot buy our way into heaven as it is a free gift. The Father knew we could not live without sin so He gave us His Son, Jesus (Yeshua). The Son, then gave His life up for us. He became our substitution. He gave His life for us so that we could have life.

Some of us will accept His gift of mercy and some will not. How about you? What is your decision?

"Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me." Psalm 139: 7-10

One day we will all face God and we will all bow our knee. The question remains whether you bow your knee now or at the Judgment Seat of the Holy One.

I chose to follow after the Messiah, Christ the Lord, and I pray that all who read this will be provoked to question whether the life they are leading is what they truly want or if there should be more for your existence in the here and now.

My friends be at peace and place your trust in the love of God,
Shifra

Great is the Lord

Greater is He that is in us;
Greater is He that is in us.
We will trust in the Lord,
we will trust in the Lord
and forever we will praise His name.

Yes, greater is He that is in us;
Greater is He that is in us.
We will exalt His name,
we will exalt His name
and forever we will be with Him.

Greater is He, greater is He, greater is He that is in us.
Greater is He, greater is He, greater is He that is in us.

Off the Cuff

I really don't have anything specific to say today, but I haven't written for awhile so this is just off the cuff.

God is so awesome, even if we do not necessarily see him at work.
Thank goodness for the rain. God's creation needs it.
I am determined to dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
I refuse to dwell on things that are negative. Negativity does not glorify God.
I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise will always be on my lips.
I glory and boast in God and not myself.
God is Holy.
God's creation sings out.

Well I guess this was good for off the cuff.

Enjoy your day and remain focused on the Lord and His majesty.

Blessings,
Shifra
