Complain or Trust

Okay---
My car won't start,
waiting on tow truck,
and I am late for work.
Oh yeah, and I am suppose to go visit my parents on the 26th.
Just a wonderful way to start the day!!!

Now I can moan and complain about it or I can trust God to work
everything out for the good. He already knew what was going to happen.

Now Job stated,"What I feared the most has come upon me." (Job 3:25 NIV)
I refuse to think like that. I choose to wait upon the Lord and see His
glory fulfilled.

I will set my affections above and not on the circumstances surrounding me.
I will be positive and not negative. Every thing will work out according to
plan especially with God at the helm.

Okay---
I feel better now.

Be blessed,
Shifra

The Reason for the Season

"Then the angel said to her, "'Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.'"
"And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS."...Luke 1:30-31

"And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."...Luke 2:7

"Then the angel said to them, "'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be for all people.
For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'"...Luke 2:10-11

Be at peace for we have a God that never fails and loves us unconditionally.

He is the reason, for the season!!!!

Merry Christmas,

Scrooges

There are just too many 'scrooges' in this world. People who just cannot let others enjoy themselves.

So what if Christmas is not the actual day of Jesus birth?
So what if birthdays are not mentioned in the bible?
So what if certain holidays came out of paganism?
Isn't it our hearts that God looks at?

I truly believe that Jesus loves our honoring Him and enjoys it as much as we do.

If we celebrate with the right heart, then we are showing His heart.

If God is in us and we choose to enjoy this season and be generous to others because of the season then it would be foolish for God not to enjoy it with us. God is not foolish! Also, many people are blessed this time of the year with things that they desperately need. God is glorified in this!

So to all those 'scrooges' out there remember it is more blessed to give than to receive. This includes extending people who do not agree with you the benefit of all your doubts and arguments.

Remember even 'Srooge' came around at the end.

Be blessed,
Shifra and Yochanan (my husband, John)

Hustle and Bustle

The hustle, the bustle
it is all in the air---
announcing that St. Nick
will soon be here.

The trees all trimmed
with their light all
aglow and the hearth
hung with stockings is
ready to go.

But are we really ready
for all that it means
or are we just caught up
in this traditional scene?

The hustle, the bustle
it is all in the air---
we should be announcing the birth
of Jesus God's Son.

Our hearts should be trimmed
and all aglow and our spirits
on His hearth should be ready
to go.

Remember that Jesus is the reason
for this special season.
Keep your hearts in the right place
and Merry Christmas to all and to all
a goodnight.

Be blessed,
Shifra
