Count it Joy

The economy, the healthcare issue, the election, the holidays---when will it all end???!!!!
These things are all on people's minds and rightly so, but we must keep them in the right perspective.
Our faith will be tested on all sides, but how we react to these testings is what counts.
Are we going to let our faith carry us or sit down and give up?
The trials are there to bring growth through perseverence.

James 1:2-4 says, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." (ESV)

Let us remain true to the faith so that there will be no lack and that we will remain complete in Him. Amen.

Blessings,
Shifra

Tis the Season

The Christmas season is quickly approaching and many of us are stretched financially. We wonder how we will provide gifts for our loved ones.
This is the time where we need to step back and remember what is truly important. Is it the materialism and all the glitter that goes with it or is it the birth of Christ?
The celebration should always be centered around Christ. It is after all what the holiday is all about.
Jesus is the reason for the season!
Yeshua (hebrew name) is the reason for the season!

"And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her first born son and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn." Luke 2:6,7 ESV

I'm not ready for Monday!!!!

Where did the weekend go? Why am I so tired?
I'm not ready to go back to work!!!
Mom just 10 more minutes--oops, I am the mom!
Now what am I going to do?
Alright, alright I'm getting up!
Gee wheez--can't I just sneak a few more winks?
Besides that I did not sleep good and my car is not
working so plans had to change.
Gee what else can go wrong?

But there is one bright spot in my day. God never changes.
He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Thank You Lord for being with me.

Blessings,
Shifra

Disturbed

It really disturbed me to hear people making jokes over the
plight of the Chilean miners. It was rude and heartless.
I heard it on television and saw it on Facebook too.

What if it was you stuck 2000 feet below ground and not
knowing whether you will see daylight again? They were
undergound for over two months and you're cracking jokes!

Step back and put yourself in place of that miner. What
would you be thinking? How would you feel?
Step back and put yourself in place of one of the loved
ones. How would you feel?

The miner not knowing whether they will come out alive,
not knowing if they will ever see their family again.
The loved ones wondering what is happening to their spouse
or parent and will they ever get to embrace them again.

This was no joke! This was real life! Making fun at someone
else's expense is offensive and uncalled for. The old adage
of  'if you cannot say something nice, then say nothing at all'
is one that fits this scenario perfectly.

I can only say that to all those who made jokes that you
never find yourself in a situation like that or worse.

Thank you Lord for watching over the miners and their
family members. Bless them.
Thank you Lord for all the volunteers that came out to
help and bless them too.

God be with you all,
Shifra

The Father's Love

The Lord gave me this word to share at church yesterday, but it is not just for my local church, but for the Body of Christ.

The Father’s Love
Prophetic Word Given at Christ the Rock International on October 10, 2010

The love of the Father is falling like a blanket
upon His children.
As you reach out to your Father He is there to meet with you.
Let go of all things that keep you from coming to the Father.
He is here to love over you.
He loves you.
He loves His children with unconditional love.
He says, “Come. Come let me wash over you. I will flood your spirit in a way that you have never felt before. Let me set you free.”

Excerpt from the new book I am in the process of writing

The Still Small Voice

It was not in the fire.
It was not in the wind.
It was the still small voice.

Hush, be silent, and listen for the still small voice.
Your spirit will hear it if you will listen for it.
Ssh--- can you hear Him?
He is whispering your name.
Ssh---listen. He is here.

It was not in the fire.
It was not in the wind.
It was the still small voice.

What are you expecting?
Are you expecting thundering from heaven?
Surely He could do that, but hush for it is the still small voice.
Listen how sweetly He calls out to you.
Ssh---listen. He is here.

It was not in the fire.
It was not in the wind.
It was the still small voice.

His love is crossing the great divide.
It is in the quietness that you will hear.
Listen. He is calling to you.
What a joy it is to not only hear the call,
but His presence is so thick.
Ssh---listen. He is here.

It was not in the fire.
It was not in the wind.
It was the still small voice.

It was not in the fire.
It was not in the wind.
It was the still small voice.

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"

More on Colors

Since I talked about purple yesterday it got me thinking about other colors.

Purple : imperial, princely or regal or exalted birth; the sovereignity of God.

Red : the color of blood. Christ shed His blood for us. He gave His life upon the
cross that we may have a way out. Life is in the blood and God new with out the
blood that there would be no forgiveness of sin.

Blue : symbolic of heaven; truth.

White : represents purity; Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together,"
Says the Lord, "Though your sins are scarlet, They will be white as snow,
Thouugh they are red like crimson, They will be like wool." (NASB)

This little study shows me why I pick the colors I do for my tree during Christmas.
I always do a color theme, but now it is even more meaningful to me.

Though I could not find anything for gold I believe it is also symbolic. For example,
the streets of gold. We will not have to have any lights in heaven as the light will
come directly from the throne/Godhead--I believe that will be a golden light (my
opinion).

Shifra

Purple

I'm in a purple mood today and I think it is because purple is royalty.
As a child of God I am in the royal family. The priestly kingdom.
This is the place I want to be in. There is no better place than the family of God.

God's word says that we are of the royal priesthood:
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." 1Peter 2:9-10 NIV
The Message, says it like this: 9-10"But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted."

What a blessing it is to be able to proclaim all that He has done for us and continues to do for us.

We should not allow ourselves to be complacent and take Him for granted. He is our Daddy and we need to acknowledge that on a daily basis. We need to honor Him in all that we say and do.

My prayer for us all is that we will uphold our calling and go forth in His might and His strength.

God bless you all,
Shifra
